Fortress of The Muslim Invocation from the Qur’an and Sunnah.
It is not possible to us to perform the Salah (Prayer) as it should be performed unless we know the detailed description of the Prayer shown by Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, such as essentials, manners, forms, supplications and remembrances. However, detailed familiarity with these aspects of the Prayer is difficult to be achieved by most people nowadays because of their limiting themselves to a particular madhhab (school of thought). In every mudhhab, there are traditions and sunnahs (Prophetic examples) which are not found in other madhhabs, and in every mudhhab there are sayings and actions which cannot be authentically traced back to the Prophet.
Many any books have been published on the Prayer og the Prophet but most are by later scholars that cater for a particular muddhab. This famous work, translated from the original Arabic Sifah Salah al-Nabi, brings together as many features of the Prophet’s Prayer from the takbir to the taslim, so that Muslims can fullfil the Prophet’s command to “pray as you see me pray”. This work is the result of an intensive research by the author on various traditions (Hadiths) and their relevance, judjed according to the strict rules of the science of Hadith.
Remembrance, praise and supplication – dhikr and du‘â’ – are the core of worship of the Divine. The Noble Qur’an and the last Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) have stressed this point and taught us how to attain Allah’s pleasure through calling on Him and remembering Him in words of praise and thankfulness. This small book is a valuable collection of daily supplications from the Qur’an and the authentic hadiths. It contains the Arabic text, full transliteration and clear translation of the meaning of dozens of phrases of remembrance (dhikr) and supplication (du‘â’). This new and revised edition of Let Us Remember Allah and Praise Him is designed to be easy to use: its full-sized page format ensures that the print is large enough to read effortlessly, and yet its ultra-slim volume makes it no trouble to slip into a handbag or backpack. It is truly a practical handbook for every Muslim desiring to seek peace in this earthly life and salvation in the hereafter.
He who reviews the Qur’aan will find that the Book of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, is replete with many verses and a number of texts indicating the virtue of Du’aa and the loftiness of its status. When you read the Qur’aan, you will find that the first Soorah with which the book of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, begins with it; Soorah Al-Faatihah contains this tremendous act of worship, and the last of the Qur’aan Soorah An-Naas as well, contains this tremendous act of worship.
So the Book of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, begins with Du’aa and ends with it. The Du’aa, which is within Al-Faatihah, is the greatest of supplications hands down. (It contains) asking Allaah, the Blessed and High, for guidance to the straight path and that the servant avoids the paths of those who are astray and those upon whom is the Anger of Allaah. The last of the Book of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, contains the Du’aa of seeking refuge with Him, Glorified and Exalted be He, from the evil of the one who whispers and withdraws; the one who whispers into the hearts of mankind; from the Jinn as well as men, in order to make them deviate from the straight path of Allaah and the upright way.
Allaah informs us that Shaytaan says:
Then I will come to them from before them, and behind them, from their right and their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e., they will not be dutiful to You).
So there is no firmness upon the straight path of Allaah, nor safety from the accursed Shaytaan-who calls mankind to deviation from the straight path-except by way of Du’aa and seeking refuge with Allaah, the Majestic and High; and a good manner of taking refuge with Him. This beginning and ending contain an indication of the importance of Du’aa from different perspectives; and the need of mankind for Du’aa to be firm upon the straight path of Allaah. When you reflect upon the other verses of the Qur’aan, you find the great status of Du’aa and lofty station of it within the Qur’aan.
Endangering the smooth running of its affairs, in relation to its vision, moral values, conducts, inter-relationship, and interests. It is believed that clear apprehension of the drifts and trajectories along which a family should tread would provide the uttermost and worthwhile rectitude and success expected of a Muslim family, as it would also provide an appreciable and remarkable definition for the methodologies and techniques that are necessary for parents to adopt in their children’s upbringing.
It would be noticed that we, individual families and societies, are faced with the problem of how to relate with the overwhelming modern cultures that have been vigorously streamed on us from all nooks and crannies of the world. Moreover, in reality this problem is no more of relationship or management, the effect of those alien cultures has grown to being capable of causing a lot differences among people in our community, in relation to their manners, general practices and traditions, which are the main points of contest.
Also, Muslims generally are faced with the problem of illiteracy, poverty, and unemployment. Even among those who work, a large percentage of them engage in hard corporal jobs.
Consequently, all these have affected the level of attention the parents pay to their families, in terms of planning their family lives and projecting for the upbringing and future of their children. This makes it necessary for us to continue to discuss and write on the matter of child upbringing, as that is the only way out for us. And this is the aim of writing this book.
